This classic goddess symbol was inspired by another close friend of mine. The symbol of the tree wraps around her body, nourishing the goddess within. Moonstone, associated with the Goddess and said to be associated with Diana, is entwined into her hair providing protection on land and sea. Here we have the tree representing land and she is poised over the sea. Moonstone also brings good fortune, assists in foretelling the future, promotes inspiration and brings success in love as well as business matters. If you give your lover a moonstone necklace, then whenever the moon is full you will always be passionate with each other. As such, moonstone has long been worn as an amulet to bring good emotions to the wearer, while also protecting those of a more sensitive nature.

My inspiration for this piece was from discovering the connection within us.

"Moon Goddess" was commissioned by a close friend who, at the time, had no idea that she was about to be the subject of this painting. But, both artist and subject were overwhelmed by the huge flow of positive emotion and
healing that came from the process when it was done. At times we all feel disconnected from our natural beauty, and this piece is a reminder of how beautiful each of us truly are.

This design contains both the Goddess and the Fae. The picture shows amethyst, peridot, and green amber for their healing properties, representing the cleansing and protection of the earth. The Fae are our guardians in the form of nature spirits, protecting our sacred land.
You can see a piece of green amber over the earth, with the earth symbol painted on it. The healing properties of amber help to energize us, also empowering the heart chakra to bring joy and love. Amethyst is one of the most powerful healing crystals known for creating peace and oneness. Peridot also helps the heart chakra – it is a stone of lightness that detoxifies the effects of negative emotions. It also brings about necessary change, and helps us to understand our destiny and spiritual purpose, and to attain our full potential. All in all, the stone sharpens the mind and opens it up to new levels of awareness. Together, the magic of these three stones bring positive, healing, protective thoughts to out sacred home earth.

This is my first in my series of chakra faeries.

Muladhara is the base chakra – all about stability and nurturing. At times when we are under stress, its easy to become disconnected and unfocused. This is when we need to connect to our basic survival instinct, where we can feel emotionally stable and physically fit and healthy. Balance is the key aspect of this chakra; if we have that, then we will be a grounded person. Muladhara is holding the earth, embracing the love and nourishment it gives, while she grounds herself as her feet turn into roots. As she inhales she absorbs all the goodness of the earth recharging her body with the cleansing crystals of the earth – ruby, garnet, tigers eye, bloodstone and black onyx, then as she exhales she releases all negativity to be cleansed by mother nature.
Ruby transforms negative energy to positive energy, dispels lethargy and strengthens her immune system. Garnet raises her self-confidence and balances her base. Tigers eye calms her mind. She uses the bloodstone for circulating all of the energy in her body, eventually removing any energy blocks. And black onyx is for overall protection and her good health.
